Class Descriptions

Modern dance technique

These classes are a development of Hanya Holm, Humphrey/Weidman and Martha Graham through Mary Anthony.
Class consists of a symbiotic relationship between technique and self expression.
Classes begin with a floor warm-up using Pilates, Yoga and dance exercises and then progress to a series of floor and standing movements that develop focus, rhythm, direction, line, control, self expression and poise.

Core Strengthening

This is a great class for people who don't want to have a dance class but would like to tone, strengthen, and stretch your body. Most of the class is done on a mat on the floor, the excercises are a combination of Yoga, Pilates and dance stretches.  You will see changes in your posture, your stride, and any physical activity  will seem easier. This class is a prolonged version of what we do in the technique class. This is a sure way to get fit and it's affordable!

Modern Dance for beginners

A fun, energetic, multisensory learning experience that involves the whole body through creative movement and imagination.
Young peoples dance classes introduce the elements of dance such as: focus, space, time, shape and rhythm building confidence, coordination and bringing creative selfexpression to your movement through structured games and improvisation.

Intergenerational Workshops

A time for exploration, creative self- expression and partnership in dance.
